How to take reliable notes with iPhone and iPad

On the day of my show I'm a business analyst for a large hospital. A significant amount of my week is taken up with meetings, and obviously I have to take notes for them. I also take notes for my freelance articles and research notes for my writing fiction. Also, I have little notes from day to day I'll make a note of the RGB color values you may need, or size screws I need to get to Home Depot.

In the center of this workflow is my iPad and iPhone. Today, I'll tell you what useOneNote, Evernote, and the built-in Notes application to take my notes. As with most of my documentation requirements, I want a cross-platform solution, or at least something that you can access anywhere.

My ritual of taking notes

My approach to taking notes is very simple. I want to be able to capture the information accurately and can easily flag a note as an action item. At this point, I'm not too worried about typos and correct grammar. I can go clean them later.

I want to be able to store clippings and notes for when I'm working on my fiction. One of the stories I'm working on is set in Boston in the 1970s, therefore, I have a digital scrapbook of Chinatown, who were political leaders and notes documentaries about the era.

Finally, there are a lot of little notes that I take during the day. These notes can be adjusted into a guitar effects pedal that I want to try, I want to order parts, and some network passwords (I know, that must be OnePassword).

Using OneNote for my work notes

By far the best solution I've found to take notes in meetings is OneNote. Evernote is second, but a distant space between the two applications.

I have a OneNote notebook (labeled with the name of the company where I work) and each project becomes a page in the notebook. When I came to a meeting, I bring my iPad with me, opens the page for that project and use the keyboard to take notes. Again, I'm more concerned about getting the information below accurately and only fix a bug if my memory of an event is prevented. Therefore, I'm going to fix an error on a field name, but I do not care if I got the name wrong person (unless, of course, do not know how his name is spelled).

When OneNote is successful for me is the ability to quickly track action items. If I make a note, I can simply click the task icon on the treadmill and OneNote puts a checkbox in front of the prayer. I will then add a sentence that will follow. At the next meeting of state, I will scan the notes and mark the points of completed action. This is very important for me, because before would have to use some sort of shorthand to track an action item. I begin with the phrase, with three asterisks, highlight, or some other solution.

Also I have OneNote installed on my Mac so you can edit notes on a bigger screen if I need it. I can also access my notebooks in theOneDrive website.

Using Evernote for my personal notes

It is true that I could use OneNote for many of my personal notes. I do not for two reasons: I have years of research notes in the mood to migrate; and I like to have a clear separation of the working notes and personal notes. Thus, if someone asks to see my iPad to look over some notes and not have to worry that they can click in the wrong section and see a personal note.

How to take reliable notes with iPhone and iPad

Moreover, a large part of my personal notes taken by saturating a website is one and commented on it. I find it easier to do this with Evernote. I usually use the iOS extension to crop a page in my research notes. OneNote also has a clipper, but I needed to us. I'll try that when I have to cut a webpage to work.

Unlike OneNote where I have a notebook for work in Evernote I have a different book for each category. I have notebooks for workspaces I have admired, one for investigation of Apple items, notebooks for gaming and references to great long-form writing that I clipped into Evernote.

Using the Notes application

Finally, I have a lot of incidental notes that do not really belong in either OneNote or Evernote. These are the kinds of notes that could put in a small notebook of paper or post-it note. Looking through my notes while I'm writing this I see notes for a Terminal command I need to enter to use a gateway client on my Mac, the site ID that I need to use when I call for support, some adjustments to try on my Amp, and some musical notes need to reference during band practice.

So, why are not those in the other two applications? Usually a note is I do not want to be buried or worrying about a sync error, and are usually only one or two lines of text. At some point, I should go through and group some of them into Evernote, but not a big enough of a deal.

What I would do to improve this

I do not use my iPhone 6 Plus to take notes in meetings, but would like to. The main reason I do is perception. Writing on my iPad it seems that I'm working. Typing on my iPhone it seems that I'm texting. For now, while I'm at work the safest option is to use my iPad. I've thought about getting a small folding Bluetooth keyboard to use in these situations.

Occasionally, I weighed whether to keep my notes divided between OneNote and Evernote is a good decision. Part of me wants to keep most of most of my notes in one place. I'm not as thrilled with OneNote web clipper, though. I think the Evernote clipper does a better job of making the page. For now, however, I'm fine with the division as I am playing to the strengths of each application.

Also, there are a number of mistakes that developers should fix as sensors and camera does not work as well as problems with wireless, storage, Wi-Fi, GPS and off screen. Therefore, the user is cautioned to make such updates with caution.

iPhone 8 Concept has US fighter a time machine

iPhone 8 Concept has US fighter a time machine

Wait, what? Apple just released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but instead of looking forward to the iPhone 7, we are talking of the iPhone in August? Well, okay then.

Conceptual artists can do whatever they want, and are happy to review the visions of what the future might think looks like. Case in point is a new concept developed by Behance iPhone in August and an artist named "Steel Drake." Actually, it seems to pull some design cues from the iPhone 4, note the rear window, but then takes some of the design changes we have seen since that version.

iPhone 8 Concept

The concept has rounded edges and refined the latest iPhone models iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, while also appearing in mainstream touch technology identification. In addition, we are loving the shoulders, where the antennas are hidden in the form of a decidedly robotic future. Also, gone are the striped antenna arguably deterred from designing other cleanly on the latest models of Apple iPhone, and the camera is again flush with the body.

Will Apple ever create a phone that looks like this? Probably not, but the artists are artists and not your imagination that never come to explore concepts such fun.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date, specs, features

The next important phablet Samsung will be the first mass-market phone to go 4K

With the Galaxy Note 4 now in the public domain, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (LON: BC94) (KRX: 0,059,935) and will be ruminating on his upcoming series of mobile devices. And not only the Korean automaker is considering a successor to the Galaxy Note 4; Internet is already full of a particular rumor concerning the next Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date

Galaxy Note 5 to go 4K

Lovers of high definition technology could really crave this phone from Samsung, as murmurings are already circulating that Samsung will choose to make the Galaxy Note 5, the first mobile 4K. This has been a breakthrough that has been rumored for some time, but so far has yet to materialize. But with technology constantly developing, Samsung may decide it is the right time to do a bit of Galaxy Note 5, the first mass market mobile 4K.

This is nothing more than gossip, no longer a source of tipping this as an important part of the Galaxy Note Release 5. It is rumored in line with this that Samsung will begin mass production of "HD Super AMOLED display 5.9 Ultra 700 + ppi sometime next year, with a likely 2015 release of the Galaxy 5 note is in the same time 2014 that the galaxy Note hit stores in April.

Although Samsung is a very long way to substantiate these rumors, which itself has already confirmed during his presentation slides Days analysts currently working on a UHD 2160 × 3840 pixel AMOLED screen. It seems certain that a screen of this type are intended for release in 2015 and the Galaxy Note May be a natural fit with a screen like this, given the large size phablet Galaxy Note series.

It would also be a logical move for Samsung due to its focus on high-quality visual displays. Samsung TV range has been lauded both critical and commercial success, and there is a lot of buzz around the curved design to the top of the joint distribution have recently adopted.

Samsung profits dive

The fact is that Samsung requires some outstanding specifications and features its upcoming range of mobile devices. The reason for this is quite simple; Apple beating Samsung is currently on the market. This has led manufacturers of Korea announced that profits have fallen by up to 60 percent recently, and if the electronics giant of East Asia is increasingly fulfill its stated mandate seriously challenge Apple, then you must find a way to brand yourself clearly in the market.

Other major electronics companies have already been mentioned like the 4K screen rumored specifications. For example, LG has previously stated that 600ppi, panels and smartphones even 700ppi are perfectly achievable in the near future, so it should not be a big surprise for fans of the Korean company Samsung is investigating the possibility of release a device of this type.

Most analysts believe that Samsung has to produce something exceptional with its next range of smartphones if too mark them as something special and different about the way the iPhone. There is no doubt that Samsung offers a solid range of high-performance mobile devices, but somehow the iPhone retains a reputable and reliable street that Samsung is coming close to matching.

So a 4K display would be very valuable to the company, and probably something that will strive to achieve in the coming months. However, it will not be a silver bullet for the Galaxy Note 5 itself, so it will be interesting to see how 2015 unfolds what kind of functionality, feature set and specifications Galaxy Note is armed with 4.

Increase the size of your screen

Other than the screen resolution, which is already being speculated that Samsung, in fact, increase the size of the screen on the Galaxy Note 5 to 5.9 inches. This could be seen as a risky strategy because the market has dried phablet a bit recently, even though Apple has just released his first phablet in the form of iPhone 6 Plus. Many analysts have said that range of Samsung devices has become a bit repetitive, and even the corporation itself has granted in recent statements.

So if Samsung is to include a 5.9-inch screen on the Galaxy Note 5, surely should consider some other changes, possibly a significant change in the design parameters to ensure that the device is smaller while still accommodate this increased screen size. There are already rumors circulating that Apple has a unique design for iPhone 7 in the pipeline that will allow them to increase the size of the screen while doing the most compact device than it already is.

More Galaxy Note 5 specifications

Samsung also beef, no doubt, some of the specifications on the Galaxy Note 5. Therefore, we can expect the device to be armed with 4GB of RAM to complement a more powerful processor. The camera on the Galaxy Note 5 could be as powerful as 21-megapixel resolution, while there are also complaints that the device pack a 6 megapixel camera facing very powerful capable of Full HD video capture. The device is expected to offer a 4000 mAh battery with features like ultra-mode battery.

The Galaxy Note 5 may be a long way to go, but it is clear that Samsung is going to up the ante with this device in its ongoing battle with Apple.
