Last year Apple released its hugely anticipated iPhone X to the delight of consumers all around the world. It brought loads of amazing and never before seen features to the smartphone industry helping the company to maintain its reputation for leading the market. Now Apple has released the new iOS 11.3 beta to registered developers for testing their new software. It is estimated that Apple will be releasing the beta to public beta testers soon. As of now, most of the registered developer account users are able to update their iPhone, iPad or iPod to the latest 11.3 beta 6.
The fifth beta had been released last week with several other updates to tvOS, macOS High Sierra etc. but there were very few important changes found apart from the tvOS showing a TV Provider sign in-prompt. Though removing the need for a remote to complete the upgrade process is handy, it’s nothing to write home about. The fifth update was released for macOS High Sierra, tvOS; however, the company didn’t release any new betas for their macOS Siera 10.13.4, tvOS 11.3 and watchOS 4.3 as of today.

The reason for only the 11.3 Beta 6 update is most probably because of the security vulnerability discovered at the Pwn2Own 2018 event. During the event, Markus Gassedelen, Nick Burnett and Patrick Biernat compromised the Safari web browser by using the macOS kernel EoP. Alex Plaskett, Georgi Geshev, and Fabi Beterke also managed to hack the browser quite easily. In Pwn2Own, all security vulnerabilities found are disclosed to the companies so that they can get started on the bug or security fixes. Due to the exposure of such weaknesses, most companies often release the fixes as soon as possible.
In other news, Apple might release the final iOS 11.3 update on March 27. Several rumors are circulating regarding the unveiling of a new product at the highly anticipated spring event. Some believe that a new iPhone SE model might be unveiled whereas others speculate that we might get a glimpse of the rumored iPad with face ID technology. Nothing has been announced officially and all these are rumors but knowing Apple, there is a good chance we might be pleasantly surprised.
Due to the projected March 27th release date, we can expect another beta for the iOS 11.3 OS in the coming week. Stay tuned for more updates.
