First week of school important dates and details for John Howitt Elementary: September 2nd to 5th, 2025
Class placement information for students in Grades 1 to 7 will be emailed to families on the evening of Friday August 29th.
Students will go directly to their new classroom at 10:00 am on September 2nd. We dismiss at 12:00 pm (noon) that day.
Howitt staff will be outside to assist parents and students to find their new classrooms.
Kindergarten students should have received their gradual entry schedules in July. Please contact the school if you did not receive one.
- September 2nd 10:00 am until 12:00 pm for students in Grades 1 to 7
- September 3rd First Full Day for students in Grades 1 to 7
- September 10th (Wednesday): first full day for kindergarten students.
Bell Schedule: (starting September 3rd)
- 8:36 am: Start of day
- 10:25 am to 10:40 am: Recess
- 12:00 pm to 12:35: Students play outside
- 12:35 pm: Students return to class to eat lunch, and our afternoon session begins.
- 2:20 pm: End of day
