MIUI 12 stable update now going out to several Xiaomi and Redmi phones

Xiaomi is now rolling out the MIUI 12 stable update to a lot of phones.

MIUI 12 is now official, with Xiaomi's latest skin offering an array of new features. Some of those features include an improved system-wide dark mode, AI-assisted calling features, Dynamic Always-on Display, new visual design, tweaks to system animations, and much-needed privacy fixes.

Xiaomi is now rolling out the stable MIUI 12 update to a lot of phones in the Redmi, POCO, and Mi series. The first wave of devices received the update back in July, and the second wave of phones started receiving the update in August. Xiaomi makes some of the best cheap Android phones, and with MIUI 12, it is introducing a cohesive UI that's packed with features.

MIUI 12 stable update: Rolling out right now

Xiaomi is now rolling out the stable MIUI 12 update to a lot of phones. These are the phones that have received the update in the first wave:

Xiaomi finished rolling out the update to the Redmi Note 8 series, Redmi 6 Pro, Mi Mix 2S, and Mi Note 10 starting in August, with other devices on this list getting the update as of November, 2020:

Here's the list of phones confirmed to receive the MIUI 12 global update. Xiaomi is rolling out the update to its latest phones first, and working its way backwards. As such, it may be a while before your particular phone picks up the MIUI 12 update.

Slack’s new integration deal with AWS could also be about tweaking Microsoft

Slack and Amazon announced a big integration late yesterday afternoon. As part of the deal, Slack will use Amazon Chime for its call feature, while reiterating its commitment to use AWS as its preferred cloud provider to run its infrastructure. At the same time, AWS has agreed to use Slack for internal communications. Make no mistake, this is a big deal as the SaaS communications tool increases its ties with AWS, but this agreement could also be about slighting Microsoft and its rival Teams product by making a deal with a cloud rival.
