This AX5200 Wi-Fi 6 Netgear Nighthawk router is 50% off for Black Friday

The Netgear Nighthawk RAX48 is a Wi-Fi 6 Nighthawk variant exclusive to Best Buy with an AX5200 connection including a 5GHz band capable of 4.8Gbps. Best of all, it's 50% off, or just $150 for Best Buy's month-long Black Friday sale.

If you've been following WI-Fi 6 router news for a while the AX5200 speed may strike you as a bit odd but when you break it down, this router has plenty of speed right where you need it. The 5GHz band tops out at 4.8Gbps thanks to 160MHz band support and 1024-QAM. The 2.4GHz band is a bit slower than other Wi-Fi 6 routers at 460Mbps thanks to a lower 256-QAM. This slower 2.4GHz band will more than likely go unnoticed by most people since most of our devices use 5GHz primarily.

The Nighthawk line of routers has always been top-notch when it comes to design and the RAX48 is no different with matte and glossy black plastics used on top with a vent towards the back to keep things cool. Around the back, there are four adjustable antennas making wall-mounting a good option. There are also four gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for your wired devices. If you want to add some quick network storage, a USB 3.0 port makes it easy.

This router is set up with the robust Nighthawk app. Even if you're new to home networking, you only need to be able to download an app to get started. The app will guide you through setup and make sure you're up to date with clear instructions. Once you're all set up, you can still use the app to change settings or access Netgear Armor. Netgear Armor is one of the most powerful security solutions available for a router with a subscription. If you're not sure you want it, you can start with a 30-day trial with no payment method required.

$150 at Best Buy

The Nighthawk RAX48 is a great balance of speed and features for even a large family thanks to its great 5GHz speeds and Wi-Fi 6 capacity. The Nighthawk app makes setup a breeze and the optional Netgear Armor software can help you keep your internet usage secure.

If you're worried about the slightly less capable 2.4GHz performance, keep in mind that not that many devices will use the connection. The 460Mbps available with this router is still more than enough to handle any of the Black Friday smart home deals you pick up. To add a little more perspective, the newest game console to lack 5GHz support was the Wii U.

The Nighthawk RAX48 has a great balance of features for most people and is very comparable to the best Wi-Fi 6 routers you can buy such as the AX5400 TP-Link AX73 in speed and similar to the Nighthawk RAX80 in software and feature minus advanced parental controls.

Uber Eats exits seven markets, transfers one as part of competitive retooling

Uber Eats is pulling out of a clutch of markets — shuttering its on-demand food offering in the Czech Republic, Egypt, Honduras, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and Ukraine. It’s also transferring its Uber Eats business operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Careem, its wholly owned ride-hailing subsidiary that’s mostly focused on the Middle East. “Consumers and restaurants using the Uber Eats app in the UAE will be transitioned to the Careem platform in the coming weeks, after which the Uber Eats app will no longer be available,” it writes in a regulatory filing detailing the operational shifts. “These decisions were made as part of the Company’s ongoing strategy to be in first or second position in all Eats markets by leaning into investment in some countries while exiting others,” the filing adds. An Uber spokesman said the changes are not related to the coronavirus pandemic but rather related to an ongoing “strategy of record” for the company to hold a first or s

This popular open-source web server has some serious security flaws

OpenLiteSpeed Web Server, a globally popular open-source web server , was carrying a couple of high-severity vulnerabilities, experts have warned. Threat actors that managed to exploit these flaws would have been given full privilege remote code execution capabilities, noted researchers from Unit 42, Palo Alto Networks’ cybersecurity research arm.  The team found OpenLiteSpeed Web Server carried three high-severity vulnerabilities, namely CVE-2022-0073 (an 8.8 severity score, high-severity remote code execution flaw), CVE-2022-0074 (an 8.8 high-severity privilege escalation flaw), and CVE-2022-0072 (a 5.8, medium-severity directory traversal flaw). The vulnerabilities also affected the enterprise version, LiteSpeed Web Server. Patch ready Unit 42 has notified LiteSpeed Technologies of its findings which has, subsequently, patched the flaws, and released new versions of the server, urging users to update their software immediately.  Organizations using OpenLiteSpeed versions 1.5.1
