Review: Arlo Video Doorbell is the best way to see who's at your door

The best wired video doorbell around Arlo took some time to get its first video doorbell to market, but the Arlo Video Doorbell was well worth the wait. For quite a few years now, Nest has ruled the roost when it comes to wired video doorbells by not only offering better hardware than most other vendors but by packing in a level of smarts into its subscription plan that most companies could only hope to emulate. Arlo's efforts are similar to Nest's: deliver top-tier hardware with unique features and bundle it with a subscription plan that puts it over the top. The difference? The Arlo Video Doorbell is 35% cheaper than the Nest Hello Video Doorbell . On top of that, the subscription cost for a single camera is half of what Nest charges — $3 per month for Arlo Smart versus $6 for Nest Aware. Both offer cloud storage and advanced AI-powered detection options, and neither offers local storage options, so a cloud subscription is basically a requirement for regular operation. A

Review: Demon's Souls is the reason to grab a PS5

Souls has come full circle in a truly beautiful fashion. When it was first revealed, the long-rumored Demon's Souls remake was met with great enthusiasm, including from me. The original game's servers are down and it remains trapped on the PS3. There was no way it would stay there forever, however. This is a special title, something of a cult classic that helped spawn the entire "Souls" franchise (and genre) and elevated FromSoftware's name with spiritual successors in Dark Souls and Bloodborne. This was a game in desperate need of a remake, but Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio have gone above and beyond in remaking it. Enemies, bosses, areas, armor, weapons and more have all been lovingly redesigned, simultaneously honoring the Gothic, oppressive tone of the original game while elevating the visuals, audio, and gameplay to a level befitting the phrase "next-gen." I've spent well over 30 hours with this game and I'm sure I'll be spending

Review: New Amazfit GTS 2 and GTR 2 have big upgrades over previous models

Extensive health tracking, an attractive design, and some questionable UI choices. After spending months indoors, I am not what you'd call amazingly fit. My weekly running mileage has dropped off a cliff, my sleep has become more restless, and my stress has risen. While I knew all this subconsciously, it took a week with the new Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2, with all their extensive tracking tech, to give me a bit of a health wake-up call. The GTR 2 and GTS 2 launched in early November with an updated health and fitness tracking app; new monitoring features like blood oxygen (SpO2) levels and 24/7 heart rate tracking; and improved battery life on the original GTR and GTS smartwatches. Using my VO 2 max and PAI scores, I've used these watches to jumpstart my fitness routine. After testing its Bluetooth calling, offline voice commands, water-resistance, and GPS tracking, I feel comfortable calling the GTR 2 one of the best Amazfit smartwatches you can buy today. You can also

Amazon Fire TV Stick & TV Stick Lite review: Plug and play

One of these is head-scratching and the other is a fantastic value. While other company's held off on releasing new streaming devices , Amazon has continued to churn out great options on an annual basis. The Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote from 2019 is one of the best streaming devices you can get, along with being the best Fire TV Stick out of the bunch. So when Amazon went ahead and dropped the new Fire TV Stick (2020) and TV Stick Lite, I was intrigued. These aim to solve a couple of different problems for those looking at getting a new streaming device. There are some flaws, but not enough to mark either of these options as not good value. It's clear that Amazon is paying attention to the competition and what has been working. Off the jump, it's important to note that from a design perspective, there really isn't much difference between the Fire TV Stick and the TV Stick Lite. In the box, you'll find the same HDMI stick, along with Amazon's rem

Review: Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro makes the 108MP camera accessible to everyone

Xiaomi's latest value flagship delivers an outstanding camera and the latest internal hardware. Xiaomi set its sights squarely on Samsung with the Mi 10 Pro , offering the same 108MP camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra for several hundred dollars less. The Mi 10 Pro was proof that Xiaomi could deliver a camera that can hold up to the best that Android has to offer, and the premium design combined with 50W charging and 30W wireless charging made it one of the best phones I've used in 2020. Xiaomi is now launching new variants in its flagship series in the form of the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. While the naming suggests that these phones are upgraded models of the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, that is not the case. The Mi 10T series does not supersede the Mi 10 lineup; if anything, it slots in at a lower price point. The Mi 10T Pro retains the same 108MP camera as the Mi 10 Pro and is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset, but it switches to a LCD panel — albeit one with 144Hz refresh ra
