iPhone Feature Request: Copy ‘Skip Lock Screen’ feature from Google’s Pixel 4

Face Unlock on Google’s Pixel 4 is less secure than the iPhone’s Face ID, but it does have one feature I’d like to see Apple copy: Skip Lock Screen.

Copying that would be perfectly fair, as Google has recently confirmed that it will be copying at least part of Face ID’s Require Attention feature…

The Pixel 4 will copy Require AttentionLike Apple’s iPhone X, XS, and 11, Google’s new flagship Pixel 4 smartphone can unlock by recognizing your face. However, the company quickly came under fire when it was revealed that the device can be unlocked even when the owner is asleep, simply by someone else holding it up to their face.

With iPhones, there is a Requires Attention toggle. When this is on, your iPhone will only unlock if your eyes are open and you are actually looking at the screen. Google has now said that it plans to copy at least the first part of this requirement.

Google this evening confirmed to The Verge that it’s “been working on an option for users to require their eyes to be ope…

New phones of the week

This week we got phones ranging from 4.5" to 5.5", each of them ranking high on feature and low on price.
Xiaomi kicked things off with the Redmi 3, a phone that barely crosses the $100 mark, but brings an all-metal body, a 5" display, octa-core chipset and a surprisingly big 4,100mAh battery for its 8.5mm of thickness.

A few days later the company launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3... no, not this one, this one. The 5.5" phablet aimed at the international market and swaps the Helio chipset for a Snapdragon 650 and upgrades the camera to 16MP along the way.

On the other end of the size scale is the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016), which tiptoed into official status. It has a 4.5" screen (Super AMOLED), a quad-core chipset and a 5MP camera. Its official price tag of $135 is $10-$20 above what can be found with a bit of shopping.

The Lenovo Lemon 3 competes with the Redmi 3 with a 5" screen (with a higher resolution, 1080p) and a similar just-over-$100 price tag. …

Rooting is the ultimate way to unlock your Android phone has the full functionality. The only problem is that it risks and the Internet is a wild place, but OnePlus is progressing - with a very bold move.
You would normally need to browse, forums and websites to find tutorials. And although some of the producers have become more crafts-friendly, OnePlus is everything, and release a video tutorial to root your smartphone. Slimtype is a QWERTY keyboard cover for the Samsung Galaxy S6

It seems that BlackBerry is not alone in wanting to revive the QWERTY keyboard for mobile phones, such as the Norwegian company One2One Touch has just unveiled its own physical keyboard accessories for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, but not the plus model, called the slim type.
The slim type connects up to the galaxy S6 by NFC instead of Bluetooth connection, they were included in the rule with a wireless keyboard accessory, and it does not require its own battery pack either. The keyboard must have its own app from the save game, but after that you are good to go. There are also keyboard shortcuts for E-mail, web and search, together with a dedicated emoji button.

The keyboard is integrated into a slim case that simply clips on the back of your smartphone and is manufactured from a comfortable textile surface. But this also means that there is nothing to prop up the screen so that you probably only with it when the phone flat. I personally think that it is an elegant looking des…
