Bryter raises $16M for a no-code platform for non-technical people to build enterprise automation apps

Automation is the name of the game in enterprise IT at the moment: we now have a plethora of solutions on the market to speed up your workflow, simplify a process, and perform more repetitive tasks without humans getting involved. Now, a startup that is helping non-technical people get more directly involved in how to make automation work better for their tasks is announcing some funding to seize the opportunity. Bryter  — a no-code platform based in Berlin that lets workers in departments like accounting, legal, compliance and marketing who do not have any special technical or developer skills build tools like chatbots, trigger automated database and document actions and risk assessors — is today announcing that it has raised $16 million. This is a Series A round and it’s being co-led by Accel and Dawn Capital, with Notion Capital and Chalfen Ventures also participating. The funding comes less than a year after Bryter raised a seed round — $6 million in November 2019 — and it was ov

Google warns against installing Android 11 DP4 on phones running June patch

To install DP4 on your device, you will have to flash the DP4 system image instead. What you need to know Google has warned users against sideloading Android 11 Developer Preview 4 on devices running the Android 10 June 2020 update. If your Pixel phone is running the June 2020 patch, you will have to flash the Android 11 DP4 factory image instead. While the exact reason hasn't been specified, Google says doing so could "cause device issues." Google rolled out the latest "feature drop" for Pixel smartphones earlier this week, adding a new "safety check" feature, adaptive battery enhancements, and a few other improvements. However, if you have installed the latest June update on your Pixel phone, you shouldn't try sideloading the Android 11 Developer Preview 4 OTA images. Google has added a warning on its Android Developers website against sideloading Android 11 DP4 on devices running the June 2020 update (build QQ3A.200605.001), sayin

Amazon Air adds 12 new aircraft to its cargo fleet, expands its ground operations

Amazon announced today it has added 12 new cargo aircraft to Amazon Air, bringing its total fleet to more than 80 aircraft, in part because of increased demand for shipments during the COVID-19 pandemic. The converted Boeing 767-300 were leased from the Air Transport Services Group. Amazon said one of the planes will begin transporting cargo this month, and the rest will be delivered next year. The company is also expanding Amazon Air’s ground network, starting this month with regional air hubs at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, then Lakeland Linder International Airport in Florida this summer, and San Bernadino International Airport next year. It will also open a new central Amazon Air Hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport next year. In the announcement, Amazon Global Air vice president Sarah Rhoads said, “Amazon Air is critical to ensuring fast delivery for our cust

Singapore-based caregiving startup launches Homage Health for online and home medical consultations

Homage , the Singapore-based startup that matches families and caregivers, has launched a new service that provides home medical visits, telehealth consultations and medication delivery. Called Homage Health, the service was already being developed before the COVID-19 pandemic, but co-founder and CEO Gillian Tee told TechCrunch that its launch was accelerated because many of the company’s caregiving recipients are elderly or have long-term health conditions, and are at higher risk for the disease. Backed by investors including HealthXCapital, Alternate Ventures and KDV Capital, Homage launched in 2016 with a caregiving program that focuses on people who need long-term assisted living and rehabilitation care. This integrates with Homage Health because the platform’s caregivers, including nurses, are able to provide in-person support for online consultations with doctors and help followup on recommended healthcare regimens. How Homage is tackling Southeast Asia’s growing eldercare n

Maximizing cash back with Chase's Pay Yourself Back feature

Heads up! We share savvy shopping and personal finance tips to put extra cash in your wallet. Android Central may receive a commission from The Points Guy Affiliate Network. Please note that the offers mentioned below are subject to change at any time and some may no longer be available. Here at TPG, we value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents apiece , thanks to the program's fantastic travel partners . In the past, I've transferred points instantly to United at a 1:1 ratio, then booked Lufthansa first class to Europe for 110,000 miles — a flight that would have easily cost over $10,000. United has since removed its partner award chart , so the new redemption amount will likely be higher , but it remains a (relatively) fantastic value. Similarly, I've transferred 30,000 points instantly to Hyatt, for a free stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome , when the cash rate exceeded $1,000 per night. In both cases, my redemption values far exceeded TPG's 2-cent valua

SpaceX launches 60 more Starlink satellites and achieves a reusability record for a Falcon 9 booster

SpaceX launched its second Falcon 9 rocket in the span of just four days on Wednesday at 9:25 PM EDT (6:25 PM PDT). This one was carrying 60 more satellites for its Starlink constellation, which will bring the total currently in operation on orbit to 480. The launch took off from Florida, where SpaceX launched astronauts for the first time ever on Saturday for the final demonstration mission of its Crew Dragon to fulfill the requirements of NASA’s Commercial Crew human-rating process. Today’s launch didn’t include any human passengers, but it did fly that next big batch of Starlink broadband internet satellites, as mentioned. Those will join the other Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit, forming part of a network that will eventually serve to provide high-bandwidth, reliable internet connectivity, particularly in underserved areas where terrestrial networks either aren’t present or don’t offer high-speed connections. This launch included a test of a new system that SpaceX design
