Netflix iOS App Will Soon Let You Remove Titles From Your 'Continue Watching' List

Netflix says users of its iOS app will soon be able to remove content from their "continue watching" list, which should come as good news to anyone who ever started watching something on the streaming service only to gave up on it in the opening minutes. When you start watching a movie or TV show on Netflix for iPhone and iPad , it usually appears in the "continue watching" row near the top of the app's interface. The idea behind the row is that it makes it easy to pick up where you left off. The problem is that Netflix's algorithm includes everything in its catalog that you've sampled, even if you decided you weren't interested in it pretty quickly. Netflix's new "remove from row" feature, new to the Android version of the app, is designed to make it easier for people to remove those titles from their currently watching list, instead of having to wait for them to eventually get pushed down the line and out of sight. How to improve the battery life on your OnePlus phone

OnePlus was one of the first companies to switch to 90Hz displays, and this year the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a 120Hz panel. High refresh rate panels make a drastic difference in day-to-day use, but the downside is excessive battery usage. If you're using OnePlus' latest phones or an older device that doesn't last as long as it used to, here's what you can do to get the most battery life on your OnePlus phone. Use OnePlus' built-in battery optimizer within OxygenOS OnePlus has a robust battery optimization feature that's baked into OxygenOS. The feature includes the Adaptive Battery mode that debuted in Android 9.0 Pie, which automatically limits battery use for apps you don't use often. But that's just one portion of what makes OxygenOS' battery optimization so great. You also get the ability to optimize the battery life during standby — with the phone switching off network access and background services when you're asleep. Battery optim

Opera Browser 69 for Mac Integrates Twitter into Sidebar

Opera has become the "first web browser to integrate Twitter," according to its developers . In Opera 69, released today, the social media platform now appears directly in the app's sidebar. The addition of the feature means users can access their main feed, search, and direct messages without having to open a dedicated tab to access the Twitter website or launch a separate Twitter client. The use of a keyboard and a large display makes tweeting or sending direct messages more convenient. Using Twitter directly in the browser's sidebar is also more convenient than picking up your smartphone or opening a special client app on your PC, especially when it's breaking news you want to follow. The sidebar integration makes it easier to find Twitter whenever it's needed.  To enable Twitter in Opera, users just have to click the three-dot icon at the bottom of the sidebar and tick Twitter in the Messengers section. The Twitter icon will appear in the sidebar and

London fintech Curve to power Samsung Pay Card in the UK

Curve , the London fintech that is re-bundling various financial products by letting you consolidate all your bank cards into a single card and app, is partnering with Samsung in the U.K. to power its forthcoming debit card, which is scheduled to launch later this year. Dubbed “Samsung Pay Card” — and obviously a bid by Samsung to better compete with Apple Wallet and Apple’s own credit card launch — the product is being described as a digital payment solution that will give Samsung customers “greater flexibility and control when managing their finances by offering a single view of spend, whilst also enabling a simple and secure way to pay”. Just like Curve’s direct offering, it also promises the ability to “sync multiple loyalty and bank cards in one place” for a true digital wallet experience. Notably, at one point in the press release the product is referred to as Samsung Pay Card “powered by Curve,” pointing to a degree of co-branding, too. If you look carefully at the product ren

Walmart’s Flipkart makes local languages push to win small Indian cities and towns

Flipkart on Wednesday added support for three more local languages as the Indian e-commerce giant looks to widen its foothold in smaller cities and towns across the country where fewer people speak English and Hindi. The Walmart -owned firm said its online marketplace now has interfaces in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, three languages that are spoken by roughly 200 million people in India. Today’s announcement follows Flipkart adapting its interface in Hindi language on its website and app last year . Flipkart’s rival, Amazon, added support for Hindi in 2018. It does not support any additional Indian languages. A Flipkart spokeswoman told TechCrunch that support for Hindi language has been well received by customers. “About 95% of consumers who opted for the Hindi interface continued using the interface as a testament of its efficacy,” the spokeswoman said. Flipkart said the new localization effort, for which it conducted on-ground surveys in many cities, includes a “judicious” mix

Memo Bank unveils its business bank, credit license and $22.5 million in new funding

Memo Bank wasn’t always called Memo Bank. It originally started as Margo Bank and it has been flying under the radar for a few years. The French startup is now about to launch publicly and shared more details about what it is building. As the name suggests, Memo Bank is a bank. It plans to server business customers exclusively and it targets small and medium companies that generate over €2 million in annual turnover and have more than 10 employees. Jean-Daniel Guyot, the co-founder and CEO of Memo Bank, previously founded Capitaine Train, which later became Captain Train, which later was acquired by Trainline. Capitaine Train disrupted online train ticket sales in France as the national railway company basically had a monopoly. When you’re creating a bank, you’re also entering a highly regulated market. And Memo Bank’s team is aware of that and wants to create a barrier to entry with its competitors while providing a different service compared to legacy players. Memo Bank is a c
