Europa League quarter-finalists Getafe make their league debut this weekend, though Sevilla, the winner of the tournament will sit out until week three. Real Madrid also take to the La Liga stage for the first time this season with a trip to Real Sociedad.
Other teams not involved in La Liga thus far include Champions League quarter-finalists Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, as well as newly-promoted Elche, who gained a place in La Liga via the play-offs.
The first El Clásico clash between reigning champions Real Madrid and rivals Barcelona takes place on October 25 with the season's first Madrid derby scheduled for December 13.
There is also hope that the delayed 2019/20 Copa del Rey final between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad could be played in December, though it is currently "indefinitely" postponed.
