Shopping online should soon be a lot safer thanks to a new Google Chrome update using virtual cards. Announced at the company's Google IO 2022 event, the move will boost user privacy by giving the option to autofil details of a virtual card when prompted in the browser , including the long card number, expiry date, and three-digit CVV number. Doing so should help keep a user's actual card details safe from fraud, as well as making sure they aren't stored on a merchant's database, where they could be compromised in a data breach.
