Cyberattacks are basically a way of life for most businesses now

For modern businesses, cyberattacks are essentially an everyday instance, with an ever-increasing number of organizations say they are facing such crises almost on a daily basis. This is according to a new report from Dell surveying 1,000 IT decision-makers from around the world, working in a wide range of public and private sector industries, with the respondents saying their firms experienced higher levels of natural and modern disasters than in previous years, resulting in more data loss , more downtime, and higher recovery costs.  Of all those disasters, cyberattacks were the biggest ones, as they took up almost half (48%) of all recorded incidents. Furthermore, they were up from 37% a mere year ago. Fewer security vendors, more protection Elsewhere, the 2022 Dell Global Data Protection Index (GDPI) report noted almost nine in ten firms (86%) experienced at least one cybersecurity-related disruption in the last 12 months.  Firms that suffered data loss have had more than a mi

The iPhone 15 might get a premium makeover

The iPhone 14 line could hardly be accused of not looking and feeling high-end, but for the iPhone 15 line Apple might make its phones even more premium. That’s according to leaker ShrimpApplePro (via Phone Arena ), who tweeted that the iPhone 15 will have titanium sides. That’s a premium material that’s more expensive than the aluminum used by the iPhone 14, or even the stainless steel used by the iPhone 14 Pro . But that’s not all, the source also claims that the back edge of the sides will be rounded, so the frame will curve into the rear of the phone, unlike current models which have more of a right-angle. The back, meanwhile, will apparently still be glass, with ShrimpApplePro saying in a follow up tweet that 'this design will create a really beautiful edge transition from the back to the camera bump.' So the new iPhone 15From the early information that I have, the iPhone 15 will feature a new border design. The back edge corner (as pointed out in the images) wi

OnePlus Buds Pro 2 design gets shown off in unofficial renders

With the OnePlus Buds Pro , we got a premium pair of wireless earbuds from OnePlus, in a market that is getting increasingly competitive – and now we might have our first look at what the company is planning for a follow-up. Over at 91mobiles there are some high-quality renders showing what are supposedly the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 (though of course we can't be sure until they are actually launched). From these images, it doesn't look as though much will change in terms of design. What is new is an olive green color option, shown off in these renders – the original OnePlus Buds Pro were available in matte black or glossy white. The design similarities extend to the charging case, which looks to be more or less the same. What to expect We don't know much about what the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are going to bring with them in terms of features and functionality, but this latest report suggests that Danish loudspeaker maker Dynaudio has been involved in the production of the earbu

Meet the smartest office building in the world

With most of us choosing to work from home for at least part of the time, the need for physical offices is perhaps somewhat on the wane. Many businesses (especially those with high rents to pay or leases to run) are looking to address this drop off with perks such as free meals, flexible hours or other perks, but could the answer to a better workplace actually be better technology? Smart buildings (and smart cities) are nothing new, but TechRadar Pro was invited to Singapore to see the potential next step in making office buildings more intelligent than ever before. Going smart From the outside, JTC Summit may look much like any other office block. Set in Punggol district towards the west of Singapore, its gleaming glass windows and bright, airy lobby make it a welcoming 24-story presence that bustles with workers going about their daily tasks. However under the surface, a network of around 60,000 sensors power a hive of activity that make the building almost the equivalent of a l

Farewell to the Nvidia RTX 2060, the 2nd most popular gaming GPU

We’re deeply sad - heartbroken, even - to report that it looks like Nvidia is sunsetting the RTX 2060 , long considered one of the best budget graphics cards ever made. Recent reports seen on Chinese tech website MyDrivers appear to indicate that Nvidia has stopped supplying its vendors in Asia with RTX 2060 chips (as well as the upgraded RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2060 12GB), as well as requesting that its production and sales partners limit supply of the cards by the end of November. It might be more than three years old now, but we’re looking rather wistfully at the departure of the 2060 family. These graphics cards were incredible: sensibly priced with sound performance, introducing many budget games to the magic of Nvidia’s DLSS tech as well as ray-traced graphics. We weren’t the only ones who appreciated this budget GPU. Even today, the RTX 2060 is the second most popular GPU among Steam users, as per the most recent Steam Hardware Survey . The number one spot is held by the G

OnePlus 11 rumored to get a ceramic finish and 16GB of RAM

The OnePlus 11 is one of the key flagship smartphones that we're expecting to launch during the course of 2023, and we've got some fresh information on what the handset might be bringing with it when it sees the light of day. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (via Pocket-lint ), the OnePlus 11 is going to sport a metal frame with a ceramic body, while the RAM is getting bumped up to 16GB. The OnePlus 10 Pro topped out at 12GB of RAM. There's apparently another upgrade on the way as well: according to the same source the OnePlus 11 will be one of the first phones to get UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 4.0 for its internal storage, offering twice the data speeds of the current UFS 3.1 technology. Claim and counterclaim Those would certainly be interesting and appealing upgrades for the next-generation OnePlus flagship, although we have seen ceramic before on the OnePlus X – and on several models from Oppo, the phone maker which has now merged with On

How to use Live Text in iOS 16 for your iPhone

While iOS 16.1 is available, iOS 16 as a whole comes packed with a variety of new features including Live Activities , iCloud Shared Photo Library, and new collaboration tools. It’s not all about new features, though, as it also brings a huge update to iOS 15’s excellent Live Text feature that arrived last year. The clever feature became incredibly useful since its inception, letting users grab phone numbers, addresses, and plenty more from images. The good news is that it's now even better – so with this in mind, here’s what’s new for Live Text, alongside how to use it for your iPhone in iOS 16. What is Live Text and what’s new in iOS 16? (Image credit: Future) Live Text, in its simplest form, lets you manipulate text found within an image. For example, whether you’ve taken a photo of a restaurant menu or took a photo of a business card so you won’t forget it, Live Text will let you copy the text out and use it to send a message, create a note, use an email addres
